How does online tutoring work?
It works very much the same as in person tutoring using a computer, laptop or iPad. I use fun and interactive lessons, games, and books online to teach reading to my students. Ask for a free demo.

How long is a tutoring session?
For students between 9-11 tutoring sessions are 50-60 minutes. For children between age 5 and 8, I split that into 2 weekly sessions of 25-30 minutes due to the fact that young children have short attention spans. So, I find it more effective to conduct shorter sessions for the younger students.

What is the average hourly rate for tutoring?
The personalized tutoring rate is $60 for 50-60 minutes per session based on a package model. For children between age 5 and 8, I split that into 2 weekly sessions of 25-30 minutes due to the fact that young children have short attention spans.

What are my credentials?
I am a certified teacher with 12 years classroom experience in elementary education and many years of tutoring. I am well versed in phonics, comprehension, fluency, and empowering your child to become a confident reader. I am experienced in teaching 4 and 5 year olds to read beginning with teaching the alphabet sounds, simple words and sentences using fun and engaging lessons.

What subjects do you teach?
I help struggling students improve their reading skills. I assess their reading abilities, determine their gaps in phonics, fluency and/or comprehension. Then develop a personalized program to fill in the gaps and improve their reading skills.
In addition, I teach 4-year-olds how to read, so they have a jumpstart in reading. I assess their alphabet recognition and sound skills, plus their phonemic awareness and provide a personalized program for each 4-year-old that I teach to read.
